Hi everyone, I like to first start out by saying this is my first blog and that I am not a blogger so don't expect much from it. This blog will mainly be about my experiences in archery. I actually been doing this for 2 years now and I try to go to the archery range once every week to practice.

Why I Started Achery
I actually tried archery when I was a sophomore in high school when I took a wildlife studies class and my teacher showed me how to string a 4 foot, 50 pound re-curve bow and took a couple of tries shooting it. I didn't really pick up this hobby until two years ago when my dad ordered a bow for my uncle and he never used it so he gave it to me. The bow was a one and a half foot compound bow, with a string tension strength of 40 to 50 pounds. I practiced with that bow for one year then I bought my own bow. I got a 3 foot compound bow that has a string tension strength 50 to 60 pounds.

From what I have heard archery hunting can sometimes be pretty tough. Out of curiosity have you ever had the opportunity to go hunting with your bow? If you have what is the animal that is the most difficult for you to hunt with your bow?
ReplyDeleteI first picked up a recurve bow right before highschool. None of my friends were doing it, I didn't really have any experience, but archery was always something I wanted to try. I have shot both recurve and compound bows, strictly target shooting though-no critters involved.
ReplyDeleteFor me, archery is a more solitary sport. It's about what I can do with the bow, the preparation, and the follow through. It relies solely on me and how I react to the environment. But don't let me get too deep here, I found out one of my classmates was also into archery and we had some hilariously good times. One bent arrow comes to mind, but I can't say anymore. So whenever my friends would ask, "Where do you archer at?" I just had to smile.
